RUFF i am sure my other LONG is not far from the grave yard!!
So when that explodes you can test the hardness then!
Who you have looking into it should be able to test the hardness of the outer bell by using an assembled one! The inner cage should be easy enough too! So all you should need is a BALL and BJ has taken care of that!!
I think the reason BOBBY had the whole market to himself is he was the only person to get the PROCESS right!
Its not hard to test the hardness and heat treat a CV to get it the same hardness as LONGS but, the biggest trick is finding the correct PROCESS!!
There are so many different ways of treating steel!
Greg works a lot with that sort of stuff and i use to spend a little time doing it aswell, Greg basically worked out what would, in theory WORK, but getting it spot on will take a lot of trail and error!!!
You can NORMALIZE it, weld it ,then normalize again then heat treat it, then kyrotemp it and the process could go on and on!
It will be great if someone here in OZ can do it!!
I still wonder though if BOBBY isn't worried about making them and selling them then someone should approach him for the PROCESS!!!!
P.S For those guys that are looking at C.O.R.E Cv's, there were about $550.00 to $600.00 when Greg looked at getting some (about 4 months ago) he also offered a 3 month warranty. (not great but better than what BOBBY'S offering ATM :( )
