I didn't say I did not believe you I have no trust in the DPI, simple as that. If we where to believe DPI then you would have no problems getting your 35" on 8" rims legal, right :lol: So now they change their mind and you have to get 10" rims. This is the kind of BS that I am trying to avoid.

This is the reason I asked the question in the first place I want to get a copy so I can satisfy myself.

According to the association the recomended sizes mean nothing. You have to go by the tyre & Rim association manual. If I want to get my 4x4 legal then this is waht I have to do.

I think you can have 255 85 16s on 6.5-8 inch rim.
they are slightly taller than a 33 but not quite a 10.5 wide.
bfg makes these too.

I found that the tyre and rim manual changed between the 2002 and the 2004 editions. apparently in 2002 you couldnt fit 235 85 16s to a 5.5inch split rim but you can according to the 2004 book.

In another post I just stated DPI's new tyre and wheel rules for 4WD's and item 3 is,

Tyre and rim fitment must be in accordance with the Tyre and Rim Association manual,

so you are going the right way.
