Well i bought some Ranchos off TW (USA 4x4, Melbourne) and installed them on the weekend. Thanks TW, your price was the best around and they were mailed pretty damn quick too.

They're a very pretty shock absorber. They look very nice once installed.

The only problem i had during installation was that the rubber boot was a bitch of a thing to fit on the rear shocks but otherwise no dramas. I might get some heat tape to wrap around the exhaust as the rear right shock is very close to the exhaust once articulated.

The ride quality? Superb. I've done almost 90k on my original shocks and these are definately better. I didn't notice the ride difference much until i got up to hwy speeds and hit some potholes but at 3-4 (medium stiffness) it's very nice. At 1 (softest) it's a bit 'squishy' around the corners and i think a tad too soft for anything but hwy and slow offroad. It's too soft to be doing sharp corners on a regular basis and it's got a little bit too much steering input from the suspension when you're trying to go straight.

At 9 (hardest) all i can say is HOLY STIFFNESS BATMAN!!!! I can't believe the difference between the softest and the hardest setting! It's incredibly huge! After about 5 mins on the hardest setting i had to pull over and turn it down a bit because i was getting sore bones and a headache! It's AWESOME!!! Driving out of my driveway at walking pace i felt so many irregularities i didn't know were there! I doubt i'll use a very hard setting offroad because it's so stiff it's almost ridiculous. Tonight i ran the fronts at 6 and the rears at 5 and even the difference between 6 and 9 is huge.

I'll have a bit of a play with the shocks and put up anymore info i find but so far they are all they advertised to be!!!

Cheers
