So far what I have worked out is that whether it be cold pressed or cromoly the sizes required are.
The CCDA rules state in section 5.4 MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum dimensions
All outside mesurments
Main Hoop 44.45mm O/D 2.5mm Thickness
50.00mm O/D 2.0mm Thickness
All other componets 38mm O/D 2.5mm Thickness
40mm O/D 2.0mm Thickness

This might help -

I'm talking to a guy at the moment who fabs CAMS approved cages for race cars. For a cage to be CAMS approved it needs to be stamped with a serial # etc and be registered with CAMS. I'd be very careful with fitting a cage that doesn't meet CAMS spec because you may have to rip it out if the CCDA decide to mandate CAMS spec. Just my opinion.

I would also be careful not to build a CAMS spec cage that doesnt meet CCDA/ Extreme winch
My cage is CAMS approved and FIA spec yet still doesnt meet the Extreme winch rules which say it must be internal

is it possible to keep evryone happy, there is alot of rules and if you do it too cams spec you maybe doing somthing wrong in another spec, can you have a perfect roll cage, and the main reason i want chromoly is for weight, my dad is a awsome welder and chromoly is one of the easiest metals he has welded

You can't build your own if you want it to pass CAMS scrutineering

You can build your own cage and get it cams approved.
We have built 2 cages that have been cams approved you just have to get a cams approved engineer to come inspect it they take some measurements go away put it through there computer and tell you if changes are needed or not.

Get your specs from CCDA as they are more stringent.
