we just finished the same mod on a coily sierra, we used a vitara pump with a Jimny Steering box, casue thats what we could source,
we used the same holes as you did, but we ended up bracing back to the front of the block like factory, using some 6mm angle, and cut to length and shape, seems to work well,

I've been running it for quite some time, and I am very happy with it.
My shoulders, arms and back are all much happier.
