Yes but two would become 4 and before you know it 4 is 8 and so on and they could all say there’s only two of us. It’s sad to think where going to have another place closed its sad really. It is fun in there I can’t say its not but shit its that bad now that I wont go in because I break to much stuff. You have to go to hard to get anywhere.
If it was fixed every year there would be no problem as soon as it’s getting to hard it should be closed and fixed its easy that’s the way it was done years ago I know people that were in clubs that had working bee’s down there and even held races in and out between clubs. But somewhere it all got lost and every one got to busy to help fix and repair.
And now its come to this ? “what do we doâ€

I agree clubs do make a mess in places like southport!!

6,8,10 vehicles all trying to impress each other, one getting bogged, the next trying to go around, another going cross country to find hard ground. seen it heaps of times.
why not restict it to parties of 2 vehicles only.
hence we say clubs afilated with the trva. ya carnt do that shit when u are in a club.
u must up hold the "tred lightly policy" otherwise u are just another idiot in a 4b given us all bad names.
Basicly the place will be shut

Indeed people making the track wider is a main problem, 1 small deep track wouldn't make such an impact, look at the satelite picture i posted here:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=sydney+au ... &t=k&hl=en

Thats how wide people have made it lol!!

I hear you...
More often it's better to stick to the track and not contribute to "track creep"

How true but sometimes it is hard not to get off the track eg find harder ground or to go around someone that has become bogged to the point you have to get in front to pull them out or to find suitable winching points.
Anyway what’s done is done and no talking can fix it but over time it will come back you watch if it closed to us in ten years you wont even know anyone was there and they will have some big hotel on it with stuck up rich people looking out eating tea.
5 star camping guys you watch

GUjohnno is right public land for all the people not just bushwalking
I am told the flash new camp site they are planing is silted up mudflats .
That 's not a option and if that happened how long before that is closed anyway.
One of the aerial photos is dated 1948 how much money have parks spent on track work since then FARK ALL

We need to find out when they plan to close it and if its worth going in and doing some track work this season, I don't think it will make much difference but I'll try anything .

Cheers Scott

OK
I spoke with parks today and they told me that all the lagoon tracks will be open on the 1-9-05 as per normal. The proposal hasn't been passed or signed by the minister yet and won't be closed until it is. That includes all funding approval etc. They said It will be open at least for this season and maybe if enough preasure is applied (maybe a rally). It may stay open.
The guy I spoke to also said he to is a 4wder and loves going into the lagoon as well. He also said they were trying to get some other tracks open from forestry that would be graded extreme to meet the needs of hard core 4 wheelers.
I for one will be fighting

Hello all

A question i would like to raise is that in all the plans and options they do not seem to have concidered the campsite at Black Swan. It would take the strain off the south port campsite that they mention as a large point and most of the tracks in there are already on high grownd another point that they mention

And depending on the weather, depends on what camp site is sheltered have they looked at this at all????

In my view this needs to be about the whole place not just one part of it as with the sat photos if you look around the whole area there is alot more dammage done by either logging and farming are they going to ban these too

Ok lets get a central location or a couple of them with our own plan.(A sensible one).
Place it in a few locations around the state and get signatures.
I can organise 2 places in moonah and 1 in hobart and maybe two in launceston and 1 in devonport
Word of mouth should do the trick but it wouldn't hurt to advertise in the local papers.
I'll personally pay for 1 add.
C'mon someone good with this sort of stuff get something drawn up.
Peter

Well why dont we get an email partition started .

All we need is, "i think" 200 or more people to sign it.

Then All we need to do is send it every one and when it gets to 200 the last person to sign it emails it into parks.

easy enough to make and word ??
