Last one just shows how tight it was to fit the exhaust tailshaft and third link in the one side.

This is looking more and more like a road legal comp beast.... V8, 35's, dual transfers, SAS.

I can see it all now.

Took it for a spin today.
Wasn't totally happy with the power. Is a little sluggish of the line which i hope we can tune out of it.Beeing 1:1 in high range with the 36's probably doesn't help either.Anyway once gets to about 20kmh and then she starts to pull cruises along at 100kmh without even trying.
Tried it in low range   blew me away the acceleration was awsum. And the sound nothing sounds as good as a v8 at full noise.
Only teething adjustments are the auto shifter needs adj and when braking really hard the tailshaft hits the exhaust so will have to remake that.Apart from that very happy so far.

Whats the current diff gearing?

First on an auto isnt normally very low - like 2.5:1 at best. Hardly a suprise she's a bit slugggish off the line with 36"s.

Still, these things can be fixed......high stall converter or more horsepower :D

Not like you dont know that.... but always worth pointing it out to the negativity police....

i missed whether this was going to be engineered or not? reckon it can be made legal????

if so - when it comes to the swerve test (if you gotta do it) i have heard of many guys filling tyres with water to keep COG ultra low to fudge the test =) be interesting to see what it has to be put through to pass!

I can see no reson why this can not be made legal. You can engineer a 3.8 commodore in a sierra so why not a 3.5 just cause its a v8 doesnt mean its a hsv.

As far as i know there is no swerve test in nsw. Even if there was its not a verytall car anyhow maybe the pics are misleading.

Great work sam as always
guess you will have too drive for the haultec boys now your running that rover shiat ;)

Finally got to take it for a good run Saturday night (off road)
Have changed the transfer gearing to a 1.4 in high range made a huge difference goes like i expected now.
Offroad drives awsum nice and controlled beeing an auto.Having a few delema's with the auto taking off in second.
Now just have to fix all the typical rover oil leaks and then all will be good.
The looks i get now driving down the road are quite funny first they are suprised to see a Vitara with 36 inch tyres but then when i have driven past and they hear it they have this confused look on there faces thinking I'm sure that was a Vitara. :D :D :D
One thing i will give the QLDer's is that it does sound quite fat offroad when it needs a little bit of encouragement.
