If you think GU's are agricultural and want a poofters vehicle, buy a Toyota.

Drove a 70 series cruiser and an MQ before buying mine. Cruiser definately a tractor, Patrol far more refined. Id be stoked to have a GU over my MQ, even a GQ would be nice. But for what they are they drive pretty good on the highway.

Imagine how much I notice it jumping from my car into the Patrol

I bet a lo of the young guys on this forum will, in a few years time, look back fondly of their adventures in their "agricultural" 4WD's. - As I remember my youth with Dad's 40.
I new car will ALWAYS feel move refined - thats "progress" - but my old GQ will still be going, and more enjoyable - in 20 years time.
I used to race around Lakeside Raceway in my 260Z Datsun, and while it was not as fast as a V8 Supercar - it made all the right noises and felt fantastic.
Its the same with 4WD's. Its about the fun, not the money.

I traded my april 05 prado grande in on a GU earlier this month, knowing full well I'd be getting rid of a car that was beautiful on road and taking delivery of one that was going to be a bit rough. Best thing I've ever done since I got the 4wd bug.

i guess theres 9 brain washed idiots born every day. nothing to do with the fact that toyota spends more $ from new car sales on marketing than any other car manufacture, WORLDWIDE. that there leaseing prices are cheaper than anyones and there second hand prices are among the best. popular does not mean best......remember beta video's
if i wasn't a rover nut i would buy a gu in a heart beat. but wouldn't piss on a toyota if it was on fire.
my personal opinion count's for nothing
cheers, Serg

I have Rover series 3 109 and I love driving it. Also have GQ and love it too. If GQ aint comfortable considering what it is then you must want a sales repmobile. Can just see them drivin GQ in a suit with shirt and tie "Ooo Cedric don`t you think this susoension is rather crude" Oh My!!!

Now Harley Davidson's are agricultural. I guite often get off the old Massey Ferguson tractor after a long days work and find the Nissan most luxurious...I'll have to try getting into something more 'soft-istocated' . I've been agricultural and in my book the GU is far from agricultural. I think what your trying to say is that the GU isn't as comfortable on road as some of the more cross breed 'softer' 4x4's out there. I recently hit a stump at 30k's
and I'm still driving...now that's agricultural.

stupidest thread EVAR!!
good call roly, they do drive like a junk pile...
still they are affordable
particularly the ZD30 ones (im lookin to buy one)
as for toyota vs nissan, toyota builds a better car, you pay more for the priviledge, get over it you tossers

Drive an IFS hilux all day on dirt roads and u will see how shit they really are. Yes they handle pretty good onroad but take them out and use them and they die.
We have 3 at work and are used on mainly graded dirt roads. After less than 50,000km the front ends are stuffed. We dont even bother with wheel alignments anymore cause they go out of wack so easy.
I will take the patrol any day

upgrade the brakes and it will pull up fine,
i changed the rotors to slotted and new pads all round and it pulls up heaps better now.
when i change the brake lines it should pull up even quicker ive been told.
this is with 35s too

I hear you all, but when I get out of an 6 litre SS and into the Mav, I just adjust my driving style.
Its funny though, I get the exactly the same feeling from the public whether I drive either.
I'm just an arsehole
