sorry - so many people were kind enough to reply, you got lost in the melae

I'd like to keep the cost down to a point where my wife won't notice the outlay say $500 -

I've checked the automotive power steer pumps and they best I could find is still only about 12-15 LPM so I've gotten onto a hydraulics dude and he reckons he can find me a 2000psi, 40lpm gear pump with an electomagnetic clutch to suit my purposes.

Did you have another idea for me?
