Did you see what Dermody's was like. By the looks of some maps I have seen it looks like the fire didn't cross the river just there, although it looks like it might be a bit black around the south western side of the park (maybe a bit of back burning).
Was looking at slipping up there for a quick overnighter. (Been to busy to go bush for a few months, getting withdrawal symptoms)

Dermody's, not sure where that is, interested to know??

At the moment looks like I may just slip up to cheynes bridge for a girly one, IF the weather heats up, now they've opened up the licola road again

Sorry, confusing Huggets with Wombat Crossing near the south eastern end of the Mt Angus Track towards Valencia Creek. Dermody's is just to the south west of Wombat Crossing on the south side of the river. Great camping site(s), but to easy to get to. You could drag a caravan in behind a Falcon if you wanted to, although we rarely see anyone else there.

Got a (CFA) pager message today "A 200ha burn will be lit early this afternoon between Bulldog Junction and Wombat Crossing, Nth of Congulla and Upper Maffra West areas........This burn is part of a larger burn, approx 10000ha total, planned for this area to be conducted in stages........There will also be a burn north of Seaton today to thicken up control lines in that area."

Oh well. If it wasn't burnt before it will be now.
