The aircon on will turn the fan on when the compressor is engaged (ie. not all the time) AND will also blow plenty of hot air off the condenor through the radiator. My Feroza runs a lot hotter with the aircon on.

Flynn, I've got the aircon fan wired to come on at the same time as my thermo. If ones fails, you've still got the other working. ;)

Having the radiator recored made a big difference when I still had the Feroza. I personally dont like thermo fans. To unreliable IMO.

Ferris, is that in relation to my problem or Flynn's?

I can tow a heavy trailer with mine no probs, including through the Adelaide Hills on the freeway. That's with the rear fully loaded and a 330 litre roof pod fully loaded on the racks too. BTW, I could that before I fitted a new radiator!

The aircon makes a HUGE difference to the load on the cooling system. You've got the condesor in front of the radiator partially blocking the airflow to it and heating any air that passes through. ;)

flynns radiator is stuffed, rusted where it can rust, crumbled fins, and leaking/cracking where it can crack. the aircon fan is normally cooler for the engine as it is a second fan running and therefore more air flow. having the aircon on hot helps even more so. the problem he ran into was that he is using a thermo fan when he needs a motor which can take running constantly. that and a newer/bigger radiator.

the radiator is fine....as fine as wat ev said. and perhaps if u STOPPED and WAITED once in a while the problem mite be fixed quicker.
ps ur just jealous :finger: :finger: :finger:

the thermo came out and a new fan and assembly unit was placed in.

ev if u remember the air con only turns on when it feels like it so even if i did have the air con on full it mite not spin the fan. so hard wiring straight to the battery meant that it was goin to be constantly on for the trip home.

was thinkin of attachin the air con fan on to relay and switch as well as the air con unit just so i know i v got it as a backup
