I did the maths on buying an EFI pump, surge tank etc and worked it out to be cheaper to buy an EFI Vitara Fuel Tank - 55 litres and includes the pump already.

The pump is also mounted inside the fuel tank so it's a bit quieter too :)

The tank was 300 plus 20 odd bucks to get it shipped from Sydney to Melbourne...

They also have a flat mounting plane so you it's quite easy to put them where-ever you want - here's a shot of where we put mine.

What are the dimensions of the Vit tanks?

geez - it was there in the preview of the message

I couldn't tell you the dimentions off the top of my head... but i can tell you the it would fill the gap between the two chassis rails at the back of the sierra completely (so you will have to do something with your exhaust if you put it there)...

Another thing to note is that we were only able to put it where it is in my car because it has a body lift in it... Without the lift it wouldn't have fit because the chassis rails are closer together there.

good idea greg.i cant see the pic real clear on my pc do you know where abouts the filler neck comes out?

The filler neck on mine comes out just behind the b pillar on the passenger side...

However, if you were mounting it in the stock location you could spin it around 180 degrees and have it pointing pretty close to where the original sierra tank filler neck sits now.

Cheers

p.s. did you click on the photo - it will enlarge itself - may be easier to view?

Actually it doesn't quite fit, you need to have a poofteenth trimmed off, the edge folded a little or 'drop' the tank on its end a couple of times first. Obviously it's preferable not to blow yourself up while doing this.
