hi Bartso,

Would you have a est cost for the conversion ? Did you use the Marks gear or the Dellow stuff ?

Thanks

Glen.

Andy_B wrote:$40 per week savings on fuel, so over a year that would be about $2000, ........ The TOTAL conversion cost would maybe about $8000. So you could take you a little time to get your money back.

And that's if everything goes right.

Andy
i could do the conversion for less than that..... guy in town here has done the 5.0 conversion....... cost him less than 5 grand from start to finish. And besides....... doesn't matter if it takes a long time to pay it off with the savings....... as long as i can justify ANY savings to the Minister for Finance..... the more chance i have got of getting it done ;)

From what I have read with this conversion it is relativly cheap if you plan on using the Auto. As it is the same as the patrol auto just needs the output bits put onto the infinity auto (or just get a complete GQ auto). But since these motors never came with a Manual, I havent heard of any off the shelf kits for one yet.

just buy a 5.0L commodore to drive.

then you get the sound, better fuel economy (less weight than a GQ/smaller cheaper tyres, etc) and if you bust your truck on the weekend, your not stranded from work.

you could get one for the price of the conversion.

the savings will pay for rego. and then some.
