overboost valve is simply a valvethat opens at a set pressure, ie wastegate sticks shuts and boost goes high. the valve is there to save the motor from damage.TR3LOS351 wrote:wots the difference betwwen a Blow Off Valve and an OverBoost Valve??
sounds the same to me. i thought BOV were bolted to your intake manifold? to release the pressure when you back off the throttle, so when the car is boosting the Overboost valve is always leaking a regulated pressure??? hows it work?
A BOV is not bolted to the intake manifold.....tweak'e wrote:overboost valve is simply a valvethat opens at a set pressure, ie wastegate sticks shuts and boost goes high. the valve is there to save the motor from damage.TR3LOS351 wrote:wots the difference betwwen a Blow Off Valve and an OverBoost Valve??

BOV and bypass valve is the same thing. bypass is loose term for a BOV which is plumped back into the preturbo intake as opossed to the noisy
ones which are not.
It has to sit between the throttlebody and the turbo.
