I didnt find the conversion expensive , just time consuming . Someone mentioned that they had issues with the sump hitting the diff , this can easily be fixes with a sump reversal and pick up extention.

The fidly bits is oil filter to fit past chassi rail , if you want a desent angle . When I first got my car , the engine looked like it was ready for take off lol .

as i said before , more than happy to forward any info or pics on full build .

if you wan tto go manuel instead of auto , its not that hard . use a 300 zx twin turbo clutch , it fits on the patrol splines :P

Try Beenleigh Auto Dismantling. They usually have a few on the shelf  Smalls in Redcliffe...same story. May get a VN 304 on the cheep. For a few
more bucks, shell out for a later model unit. Vn was the first of the efi.
The later model engines will have some of the bugs ironed out. Like leaky injectors. Some vr and vs blocks were relief groung from factory, thus allowing the bigger stroker crank to fit straight in
These blocks had no casting numbers on them..eg (304-308) located near the starter motor from memory.
Will def. blow the budget , but the xtra torque can be mind numbing ;)
