The benefit is a car that runs properly all the time. Where is the fun in that!
I dont believe the issue is choke related as it moves into a vertical position when warm. I guess i just stuffed up some how when i put it on. It has been so muddled with to keep it going that i now have no idea of the original settings.

had a similar prob with a subaru i used to have turned out to be something in the tank blocking the fuel outlet.

Thanks to all that helped with this issue, but it was such a simple fix. After pulling the carby off and cleaning it again, i realised I added an extra gasket where ther had not been one. This covered a manifold vacuum hole, so once I cut a whole it the gasket and wound every screw into its some what original position, BAM, a car that starts and runs like new.
