Does a Mq radiator have the same mounts as a GQ radiator.What are AU thermo's worth? And how did you go about the bottom hose,as the outlet on the rad points up. Looks like the hose needs to be an S shape to get to the water pump inlet

MQ and GQ radiators are different mountings.....
AU thermos are anything from about $150 upwards to about $250......
With the MQ radiators, you have to use a diesel one not a petrol one for a 5litre holden so the hoses are on the right side.....
With regards to the bottom hose.... Just heat up the metal pipe on the bottom hose, take it out, swivel it around, and weld / solder it back in.

dont know why you would want a GQ radiator... they are the same size....
mountings are very differnt. they bolt to the front of the radiator support, where as the mq ones sit on studs and bolt at the top....

If you haven't got thermos yet then have a look at SPAL thermos. I run them in my comp truck because they are water proof and have a ring around the outside edge of the blades. The ring stops them from chewing into your radiator if they flex forward in water etc. Anyone that has seen these running on my truck will back me up on how much air they pull through. They do suck a lot of juice out of the battery though. I run 4 x 16 inch thermos on my truck. 2 on the main radiator and another 2 on the tray mounted radiator. I had to turn the rear fans off to save a bit of power for my lights etc in a night nav run.
yer i have got coming some au fans ! i think that will be fine with a gq 3 core from cris
but it is good to know as i did not know they are water proof

AU fans will be perfectly fine in an MO radiator.......
ive run them for quite a while now and cant fault them.

Im about to start up my VT V8 for the first time in the next couple of days patrolden or hammer did you need to prime you oil pump to get oil pressure when you first started it?
I was told that it was nessacary on older commodore v8's if it had been without oil for a wile or you changes the sump/pickup but was unsure if you needed to on the newer ones.

if its had oil in it all the time then just start it. but if you have had it sitting with no oil or have drained the oil pickup complete for what ever reason then yeh you would be best off priming it to be safe.
