Mud tyres for 4 runner

I've had 3" bodylifts in both my 4runners, and neither needed the steering shaft extension.....the splines were loosened while lifting and there was plenty of length left.....sniper wrote:3" requires a steering extension and also probably a fuel filler extension and check your brake lines also.
My 91 model needed the fuel filler hoses extended, but 94 model didn't.
Breaklines were ok on both too (for bodylift) both had to be lengthed for susp lift but.
I've dropped my bodylift in my current 4runner back to 2" but to be a little more legal.

I put a 2" body lift in my 90 model runner also, looked at a 3" but was informed I had to do the pre mentioned addings.
A few of my mates that had 90 model luxs done 3" and they had to extend their steering shaft, fuel filler necks. 1 off them said he also had to fiddle with his break lines.
2" is just so much easier. But each to there own.

I tell you what boys I cant see much sense in going 3" unless you want bigger than 33" rubber.
Also we checked mine against a bog stock Surf today, Surf is 355mm to underside of side steps. My runner is 490mm to underside of side steps.
That equates to 5 1/2" of lift.
30" to 33" tyres = 1 1/2 inch lift. Plus 2" of body lift = 3 1/2" lift.
Mine was obviously suspension lifted before I bought it by 2".
So for anyone interested in my advice,
"You need 2" suspension and 2" body lift to fit 33" under a 4runner."
Mudmacaca do you still require any info from me.
I will give you this for free anyway, when you lift the body the spare wheel winder will no longer fit through the bumper and allow you to
. lower the spare. This will become a real pain when you lift the towbar (provided ones fitted) because then you will have a rough time lowering the spare when required.
Its also pretty hard to sensibly fit a 33" spare under the car anyway.
better to put a spare tank in and fit a rear mount spare.
watch out for the speedo cable (I think that is what is making the ticking sound in mine).
Be very careful of anything attached to the engine and body, some things dont stretch 2" let alone 3". I dont have a diesel so I cant tell you exactly what to look for.
A 2" lift strains the steering column where it comes through the firewall, some filing or elongating of holes is required (I am told).
Extend your gearstick the same amount as the lift and perform only the smallest rubber boot surgery required. Otherwise you will get the drivetrain stink coming into the cab.
After all that, it is a pretty easy job and my bash to Toolangi with the new Muddies last weekend proved that these simple mods make a 4runner pretty capable offroad.
Good luck.
