with the staun deflaters, once you have set the desired pressure on them, can you screw them on and just drive off, allowing them to deflate to that pressure whilst you are driving and then at the end of the trail remove them and air up again? Or do you have to remove them before you start driving?

i guess i should have checked their website first! I guess the ultimate setup would be a centralised tyre inflation / deflation system as used by the US military.....

That's what I do - screw them on, check in at the 4wd park, drive for a bit, take them off when I have to open a gate. Just don't drive through mud or water with them on - otherwise you'll have to clean and reset them.

Wow, and what do you do with that 30 seconds that you save?

In all seriousness, I pulled out of the top of a difficult track here a few years ago, and there was two dudes with all sorts of big $ camera equipment set up, taking photos of grasshoppers.

That reminds me of a trip to Kakadu in the N.T.
We pulled up at a river crossing & saw 3 large army personel trucks there with the soldier dressed in the regular camo running around with little fish tank nets each trying to catch mosquito larve.
Just didn't look right to me !

After you have done it a few times, you can work out that 30 seconds is approx 20psi (or somethign like that) awhile you air down...
I love my Stauns, they may not be the fastest way to air down
Best $40 I spent.
About $70 now
I use valve rem tool or an old chuck plugged on.
