Hi bro,

The new beast is looking the shizznit! Nice one. The body deadener should quieten things a bit and does look heaps neater. Are you doing the front also? Looking forward to getting back to seeing it in person. Will look sweet with some mods! haha.

ok the zooks old engine is getting swapped out tonight.. if it makes it 50kms to my mates place..
the only thing is it overheats in 10 minutes. when its hot the hose going to the engine doesnt even feel warm.. maybe thermostat isnt opening? if i take it out, is there a problem running without a thermostat? only for 50km then the donk gets taken out and maybe a rebuild later on..

nah just take it out, it won't hurt it a bit, it just take longer to get up to temp,

and its not like you care about running the motor cold, your about to pull it out!

doing a good job on this beast, keep it up.

ps what are you doing with your old one?
going a bit more serious with it?

enjoy ashley

cheers for the reply ashley.

yeh ill rip it out and drive the bugger.. just hope it makes it south.. it has some mega piston slap or something going on :)
old car is going to my mate for helping with the engine swaps. and he will be painting my 'new' zook. once i gut the old one there wont be much in it but he can slap a new donk into it for his 18yr old son for a first car..
should be good for him.. get another zooker hooked :D

cheers mate

about time i added updates.. bloody loaned my flash card reader so couldnt get pics off the camera :)

ok here goes. i have added a 2 inch suspension lift all round and new shockies, bushies and all greased up :D total cost $804 from west australia springworks.. great service! cheers guys

added the extended shackles and now i have approximately 70mm lift all round from what it was. see the comparo below
before shot:

took the stickers off the zook. used a windows scraper and patience.. scratched the paintjob a bit but it will be repainted soon :D residue was cleaned up with some wax and grease remover from one stop auto .. cost 10 bucks and bought some rags from st vinnies for a few bucks.. bit of elbow grease and it cleaned up well.
looks a lot better i think.. dont ya reckon?

had enough of the doors rattling at high speed (read: 70+kph)
so i used some foam to stop the movement of the door lock and handle wires.

Image

the one for the lock was put on then pushed up as can be seen in this pic

Image
took all of ten minutes a side including taking the door trim off and on again.. no more rattles from these little buggers!
foam was 2 bucks for offcuts from clark rubber and the zippy ties i already had.
