But Sam are these only goin to be made for Rangies and so forth or are you going to make this type of bush setup say for patrols/cruisers ......i realise the difference in size ........but im impressed with amount of travel increase for the bucks and would luv to trial a set on the mav!
And obviuosly they have to be pressed in as you have shown to work properly to allow the movement up/down of the steel sleeve through out travel...........
Yes we are doing the same thing for patrols and cruisers. We are getting a set of molds made for the Nissans at the moment but they are still some time off.

I suppose we should. Dont think there will be much call for them though which will make them expensive. But we may be able to work the D2 size into the nissan mold or something.
Ill have a look into it.

Cool Sam, thanks for this. There are a couple of hard wheeled D2's about, but you're right, not many especially from a commercial perspective.

they would be interesting on the nissan radius arms.. I think the geometry at the chassis mount that some 3 year old designed would bind way before your bushes maxed out...
80/100/bundera would benefit muchly though..

Yea - it is happening although not this weekend. I there is a set in a mate of mines rig ATM ( a GQ) for preliminary testing but no numbers have been made.
Definately further along since your last post. At least slotted bushes for GQs now exist - but only one set ATM.

I doubt they will fit although the mould is definately bigger than the rangie stuff.
Did you have the size of the D2 bush??

Verniers are at work, and with the bushes being installed they are awkward for an engineering measurement, though I've just measured with a tape (rough) dia70, width55, crush tube70 and bolt dia16.

Sam,
Will you be making these with an offset to compensate for larger lifts or would this pose to many headaches.

castor correction bushes suck
better to drill your swivels...but most people don't worry too much...
as for the bushes, i believe they are made only with the tube in the centre and offsetting them would give a decrease in the amount of compression the slotted bushes are capable of due to the tube being closer to the outer ring to start with.....
If that makes any sense

Yeah i know, thats why i dont have them either

. Besides i like the white knuckles when your going flat out with f*#@ caster.

Yes got the mag earlier this week - thanks heaps for that. Great magazine BTW lots of good stuff and of course the mogrover on the cover
I figgered that I would just do you a really good deal on the bushes and just sent them to you. I might actually learn something about post stuff OS in the process - I guess it carnt be all that hard to do. PM me your address and bush size and I will send them.

Yep - what landy-man said although if we did make them offset then they will still produce the same travel although bacause the bushes are offset to start with then the crush tube would have to move much more in the one direction and have more of a tendence to tear out from the rubber and thus fail earlier.

Plenty of Rocks but not the vehicles really equipped for really big stuff!
The Water crossings were hair raising! with water over the gearbox tunnel
and coming through the heater vents.
The Green 90 actually started and was driven out on the Sunday after draining the engine etc.
I'm still getting mine back in order.
Thanks again.

44mm for the late style and 37mm for the early style.
Sam
Does anyone know what width the bushes in a 1992 Defender 90 would be?
The later style or the earlier style?
I assume early but want to be sure before i order! (yes i could go measure but im not near my truck!)
