a friend owns a disco, bought new, and after getting real friendly with the service head at the landrover dealer he bought from (due to the amount of times it was in the shop) he was told that for every disco sold, landrover budgets for an average of $12 000 for repairs under warranty, and are slowly introducing a clause into all new warranties that basically limit the new car warranty to $12,000 and then the owner is on their own. that's a lot of dough to spend on repairs to a new car.
