Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Mine have been on for over a year and are quieter on the road than my worn BFG AT's were. They cop a bit of a beating in the rock etc and I've had no problems with them at all. In fact I'm very happy with them, they just need sidebiters.

Looking at the sidewalls here you can see they have a rough time in the rock but I've never had any problems.

Yeah im defintly going to give them a go i get them for $155 and fit them myself. put them on in the next month and see how they go. I dont want to spend to much as leaves more $$ for other mods for time being.

Looks liek a fun little ledge.

Pity about the no side biters but still for the money they cant be too bad considering the reviews on here.

Having used a lot of the old school MT's like BFG's Cooper STT's I wouldnt pay big money for any of them over cheapies.


Maybe for soemthing a bit more specialised it's worth paying another $100+ per tyre, but for a standard muddy pattern there's nothing in them for tread pattern.

The softer compound ones may wear quicker but you get it bakc in grip, road manners and better tyre noise.

Yep it's not bad. It has two steps in it and it's fun without lockers

The Nankangs like the rock, the softish compound really helps and now they've done a few KM's on the XJ they bag out better as well. To be honest I dont even know if they really wear that quickly, I dont daily drive the Jeep but these tyres have done about 20,000km so far and are still looking pretty good, easily get another 40,000 out of them and by then I'll want something else anyway.

a few pics coming down those steps bout 3yrs ago i rekon. a mate(ryan) and myself in the lux.

iv been trying to buy a set of 285 75 R16 mudstars and they are totally out of stock. so good luck. the prices i was getting was closer to $225 a tyre so 150 is a bargin.

285's always more expensive than 33"s.

I'd almost have a set of rims with 33"x15s if they cheap enough (which 150 per tyre definately is) and use my 16's onroad only.

the 33x12.5x15 cos tme $178.50 ea fitted and balanced. That was a pretty damn good price 6 months ago, even the distributer thoguht so speaking to him about a month later. for $150 i wouldnt be so sure theyre the 33". The 33"s started out at $245 ea not fitted and blanced. I still rate them for sure, as a cheapy theyre awesome, they seem like theyd vulnerable, and mine always look like Steve F's in that menai pick all scuffed up and what not, but im yet to do a sidewall ...

My BFG's and my current Coopers looked the same too.
Sidewalls are funny things and they pop when they shouldnt and hang tough when you least expect it.

yeh thats it mavster,

when you think you might do one on the sharp shale and rock ledges it never happens, but youre bound to do one in a carpark at the supermarket or something.

theyve held up so far these ones, but like someone was saying before, they do get a bit bulgy, a bit lumpy.

My coopers have sidewall "eggs" as well... so it's not unique to cheaper tyres. I also had sidewall cuts in my BFG's.
