No not panhard rod (although this is a good idea too ) A track bar stops the rear leaves from wrapping, busting up your rear end in the pricess. It runs lengthways from the rear axle forward to a mounting point and is best researched with the SEARCH function. Cutting the knuckles is well worth the effort, and in the end you should do everything 100%, why skimp on something. If the knuckles are not totated your either going to have crappy front drive shaft angle and binding unis, or its going to handle like a shopping trolley. Either way is not good, and should be avoided. The bolt on kits tend to create low hanging rock anchors. One of the cool things about SPOA is that it cleans up the diff profile allowing them to lside over stuff.

Ooooh yes, those rods that people bracket to the top of the diff. I always wondered what they were for! Is that to stop forward and backward movement of the diff? Backward movement would be bad (stress shafts etc)?

Stops spring wrap, basically the twisting of the springs in reaction to the troque from the wheels on the ground. For every action there is an equal and opposit reaction (remember high school physics ). So as the wheel tries to turn one way, the axle tries to rotate the other way.
