My old non turbo sd33 has a throttle butterfly, but according to the gregorys manual the turbo ones didn't.
On the non turbo, the throttle cable actuates the butterfly and two vacuum lines run from above and below it to the injector pump where there is a diaphram which controls the fuel - based on manifold vacuum.
From what i have seen of the turbo ones the throttle cable goes directly to the injector pump meaning that there probably wouldn't be any throttle butterfly BUT if you did infact have a turbo diesel that had a throttle butterfly like the N/A motor i can't see that there'd be any difference between putting one (BOV) on it or a petrol motor, should only be advantageous.
If you were to embark on this crusade it'd probably be wise to plumb the BOV vent back into the intake between the turbo and airfilter to minimise the chances of crap getting into the intake system.
If it had a butterfly it'd be where the intake runners join up, pull the pipes off and have a look, don't drop anything though
