Back and forth is definately normal - this is allowing the lengthening and shortening of the springs.
If this is not happening, my suggestion would be that your springs are too "stiff" (i.e. they require more weight than your car can provide), or your shocks are too "stiff".
You can fix the spring by respoving leaves, you can "fix" the shock by mounting it on more of an angle (i.e. you would need custom shock mounts to do this).

I guess so, why not pull them out and give them a greasing too - that way you know that you have done everything possible to ensure they are not the reason for any lack of travel / movement.
Were you guys coming along to the meeting tonight? I'd be more than happy to have a look at your car there if you like?

I was thinking of coming along, buti have a lot on, uni exams ect, how long do the meetings usually go for?

The meeting starts at 8pm, and goes for between 45 minutes and an hour and a bit i guess.
People then typically hang around until as late as 11:30 chatting about cars etc. Depending on the weather, much of this time is normally spent in the car park kicking tyres, looking under cars, looking under bonnets etc.
If you get there between 7:30 and 8, you would have ample chance to get someone to look at your car, that way if you need to leave during the meeting - all is not lost.

yes your shackles could be too tight, but not likely if ya got standard shackles. also if your springs are very new, they will be stiff until they get "broken in".
I like to use C channel or U channel for shackles, that way metal can be thinner but still strong, can then re-use original shackle bolts without being too tight. This also protects the nuts from rock damage. Mine are about 1.5" 40mm longer on rear, see attached pic, christover

Shackles are aftermarket H type - 300 bucks for the set
I think my shackles were closer to 20 bucks.

Yeah i think i paid a little too much for them, but they are engineer approveed and are supposed to improve steering, still 300 bux is a lot, i brought them when i was inexperienced in modifying suzukis an unawar of this forum. But any way i am trying to make it to tonights meting hope to see you there ill be in a grey soft top, hope to see you there
