An XR6 turbo will be very laggy on one of these engines.... a GT28 will be a very responsive turbo for your gas only set-up. Going larger will increase lag.

zac i got an auto which is in real good nick...so no clutch worries. boost will depend on what set up i end up with..

how does a gt28 compare with the turbo i originally had in size and suitability? i had the turbo off a single turbo vq30det quad cam v6 out of a 300zx

A brand new XR6 turbo is on ebay at the moment.

I reckon ford employees who are reasonably high in the company structure are getting great discounts. List price is about $2900 from Ford.

Need week sometime not sure on what day though i'll be able to tell you what turbo to buy and what specs etc..

I have a To4E turbo with a t3 ex housing that's all i know but i'll know more next week after it has got all the Gas Rsearch gear installed and running with the 3" mandrel exhaust..

A couple of things Ive been trying to work out regarding Nissan turbos after talking to one of the younger guys at work who is in to drifting. The information he could give me was this:

RB 20 Skyline has a R32 turbo, roller bearing
RB 25 Skyline has a R33 turbo, roller bearing
RB 25 Skyline with a neo 6 engine has R34 turbo, ball bearing
300zx has a VG30 turbo approx same as R33, wasnt sure of bearings

Can anyone confirm this, particulary the bearing typesas he wasnt to sure on this.

Im pretty keen on the VG30 or R33 option as this appears to be a good quality cheap option.

Definately would like to know how ur costing is going and what the performance is like.

Is ur mechanic interested in making another manifold and price?

Gday , just a tip for you . Your gunna have to move some stuff around in the engine bay to avoid the heat from the turbo . The air con lines will melt there, and if thats the gas line in the pic make sure its not to close. Also keep the exhaust as far as possible from your brake lines. good luck with it , cheers shane.........

Yeah that's my gas line in one of the pics and my air con line is like .2mm from the dump pipe lol..

I'm just woundering if my coil will be ok there or what i can do in heat shield wise...

I was thinking of getting one of those turbo bennies that u put over the exhaust housing ..

Rick.

Also my brake lines are pretty close.. :?
