Sandy Pandy.. Team Hoon arrived home safely... In regards to HULK they had a spectacular end for end rollover at Denian, guys are ok, truck undamaged! Still going strong and with high spirits.

Kiwi's clucth is buggered, probably didnt do Viewmont. They replaced their PTO winch with a second hand high mount.

Alberto and Justin are still hanging in there.

That's all the for now....I have some neat photos to post here very shortly.

Thanks GQHoon for your updates and the pics - sure are going to miss them now the boys are home. Finally got a call from Jeff in "Hulk" a little while ago.... so here it is:

News - Fresh from the Battlefield …

As we left The Hulk & crew last time they were heading to Denian to play in the sand. Wednesday night saw them doing an adrenalin pumping high speed run around a twisting course. Whether it was due to fatigue or adrenalin no one is sure, but an error of judgement sent The Hulk into a spectacular end for end rollover. Thanks to the strict safety requirements for the event, the vehicle and it’s occupants emerged unscathed from their ordeal. Graeme and Jeff DNF’d the stage as outside assistance was required to right the vehicle.

Thursday AM the boys ran a similar course in daylight and managed to finish well within DNF time. Thursday PM they lined up at the infamous mud run near Viewmont (I think). After “walking” the course, encountering mud up to chest height, Graeme and Jeff elected to not run that stage.

This morning they have completed a short Nav stage with a VERY deep water crossing at the end of it. It took more than 60 metres of winch cable to reach a suitable anchor point. Jeff claimed that the water temperature was “refreshing” at 7:00 am when he plunged in. Depth of the crossing varied from 1 to 1.5 metres (3-5 feet). Even with both bilge pumps in the cab hammering flat out, Graeme still got a rather wet backside !

About now they are starting a 3½ hour Nav run through mud, water and rocks. This afternoon they head back to HQ (no night stage tonight) in preparation for the final day of competition tomorrow. Tomorrow AM, the organisers will announce progressive scores for all teams before they commence the final 3 stages. The presentations take place tomorrow evening.

GO THE HULK !

I see that now, how much did they have to lose? At least it was a fun problem to fix not like having to rebuild a rollcage or something
