F**k me swingin, thats a f**kin huge turbo, pity its a Garret, no wonder it needs a coolant rail. How much heat is that getting EGT wise
The turbo on our 9000 series John Deere isnt much bigger than that.
What sort of torque figures is this getting

It's a Garrett VNT (variable vane) and its going to be very interesting to see the dyno numbers when they are available.

Dude if thats one of your coolers, then i want one for a N15 Cummins motor to replace the factory aftercooler, and one for a 250 Cat.
A bit more torque in our trucks wouldn't go astray.
And if they can keep a turbo like that happy, then they will be used more on bigger diesels.
Good luck

Matt, I've got a set of 4 cores and 4 aluminium tubes sitting in my garage unused since I've given up on my project. Do you want them or should I set up a thread in the forsale section.

Gold
Zoltan has achieved millions of firsts (in his own mind) - Leaf springs are the shizzle for comps.

Fastest time in all competed stages... at west oz
3rd at the rock comp with 50 entrants most of which are buggys
Fastest time by over 20 seconds in the mud run at the rock comp...
2nd lowest flex of any car out there...
As far as WA is concerned id say ive achieved some firsts...
Leaf springs FTW

Turbo CAD for the MAC and Gibbs Cam for the PC
Gibbs cam is the more powerful but I like the Turbo CAD for the MAC, Turbo CAD for the PC I don't like.
My favorite piece of work to date is this stroked crank, 3.4 to 4.2

Zoltan if you don't want a pissing contest don't start one. Your first comments were less than congenial, I don't have time for people that can't take what they try to dish out.

oh and for the record tom (no disrespect to anyone involved in this comp) but the west oz challenge, cant be too much of a challenge as you guys all got beaten by a tj jeep! who has since competed at moa and the jeep that kicked all you guys didnt make it thru first stage without a breakage, we repaired that then it was destroyed by the end of the first day and couldnt compete any more(oh actually if i'm not mistaken the jeep that beat you all has only finished 1 of the 3 events he has entered, hmmmm), says a bit for the type of challenges you do doesnt it.
as for your statement about zac winning in a 6 car field moa, has an 11 car field with 4 more confirmed entrants for nxt comp, the numbers are slowly growing with the sport in wa and as people actually see how well the comps are run and how difficult they are.
matt, i'm sorry to have taken things off your subject but something just need to be said.

I must be missing something. How can you have the fastest time on a stage where you DNF???
Z()LTAN wrote:

I think you meant to say "compLeted", not "competed"
If you start a stage then DNF, that is competing
So the guy you were paying out on has won 2 comps. You have won 0???
I think you forgot the saying: "To finish first - first you must finish"
1st out of 6 is better than 10th out of 18
And - to really rub it in - you were beaten by a 2.5L TD Land rover and a suzuki sierra

You could try stuffing around and spending some $$$ to improve your placing.

That pissing match was crap. Nice work on the six core lam project mate, will you be welding it on the inlet like the other 4 core? I'm still goin over ideas for my 1HDT and was wondering what would happen if i welded a small dia tube through the side of the cooler so i can keep the throttle cable in the same place. I can't see it effecting the cooler over all except maybe add a weak spot. Can you see what i mean?

It will be intergrated like the 4 core yes, I also have a 2 core under way intergrated the same way.
It's about time I looked at the Yota mainold. Trip to Halls tomorrow.
