anyone got a price on these bigger pwr barrels, and do they come as a kit eg. plumbing radiator, pump etc ;)

It's around $1600 for the kit which includes the barrel, water pump, radiator, thermo fan etc..., however you still need some brass fittings, hose clamps, hose, some electrical items and the pipe work to plumb the air from the turbo to the intercooler and the intercooler to the inlet manifold. In the end it ended up costing only slightly more than the denco kit ($1815) however you get a much better barrel.

Just got a price on a 10x6 inch PWR Barrel, cost $945ex plus postage.

P.S Not sure but PWR may make Denco Barrels for them.

Juzza (Centa Vic Performance 4wd) is in the middle of doing a FMIC on a GQ ute at the moment. If he approves I will see if I can get some pics of his setup. As it should be mounted this weekend. Large Garratt cooler.
Should also have some pics from Sparkys GU build.

As for FMIC vs TMIC. I dont know which is better. But Shreq (ontrack ute) dosent stay in one piece long enough for the intercooler to get dirty. And birdy and other racers probably pull there coolers often to clean them out.
With FMIC its surprising with the amount of things Turbo 4.8 has hit, I dont think he has punctured a core yet.

I started the turbo conversion on my GQ running an RB30 (VL Commodore/R31 skyline motor) Saturday.

Its now 80% done, just go to build custom lines for oil and water, install the external waste gate and get the gas research gear installed next tuesday.

Its running a T3 Garret which I have converted to external gate on a highmount manifold, the old carby intake manifold has been replaced with a VL/Skyline EFI unit which will have a Gas Research Throttle body mounted to it in blow through configuration.

Some b4 and after pics below.

Not always, most old shitters have a Christmas tree on top of the top radiator/thermo stat housing that has 3 or more vacuum lines. When the temp is high enough this can pull more vacuum into the dizzy causing the revs to rise making the idle go up making the fan pull more air.
