thats just the build date isnt it?
it could be built in 97 but sold in say feb 98

it could be built in 97 and sold in 3030... the build date is what VICROADS etc goes by.

true, but if the rules are 98 onwards then it should be ok.
id still get it in writing from someone before i would do it

I dont think there would be that much call for them, but I still dont see it being that easy.. dont you think Safari grey importers would be on to this by now if it was?
Maybe not enough cash could be asked for them ?

I often see the 88 GQ safaris with like 14000 or so on them with the scarier thing being that people pay that much. A chappy in port maq who drove into my old mans shop last year had one he just got, it had all the bells and whistles pto,locker, electric everything, sunroof, diesel and low kms.etc etc etc. He paid 13000 for what is essentially a near 20 year old vehicle, there would be a biggish profit on it imo.

How come I see lots of GQ Safaris (Y60) getting around imported...

yet the GU shorty is not allowed?
