Moderator: evanstaniland
some of you people have forgoten that these have to be road registraded vehicles . the comp is about driver and navy talant , not who has the most wrecks in there back yard to build a truck . the comp has 2 classes , standard and modified , it doesnt need another . if your vehicle doesnt comply , you didnt read the rules or you CHEETED , if your not happy about it do an event that does not need rego etc rock crawling .

OK - Just confirming date of posting to Tough Tracks web site - which is a bit longer than first estimated.
By the time the amendments are worded correctly into the appropriate sections, sent to the committee for verification and posted - it will be Thursday evening before we see them on the site - assuming there are no computer glitches etc.
People wishing to post on the Tough Tracks website will need to register.
Guest log-ins will be able to access the 'Public Area' which is where the event information, rules & specs will be posted.

Thanks Pete I was wondering how we were going to find room for the rum if it meant we had to carry a change of clothes as well.........so Ian can wear my socks for day 2 and I can wear his jock? Cool all sorted.bowtie landie wrote:But Linc - the ammended rules only state that socks & jocks need to be changed - you and your navi can still just swap - no different really - see - just a clarification of the existing.

just got a question if somebody can help me( possibly a silly one), in regards to rule 3.3.3, trophy class axles and hubs : axle housings shall be the original equipment for that make of vehicle. so that means later model axels cant be fitted? ie 80s axels to 60s? they are from the same make but obviously not original equipment.
cheers

it is really quite a shame to hear these type of comments, especially from a competitor in which i have always held in such high regard!
- Registration (in QLD) is forever subject to scrutinery , and i can assure you ther would not be too many vehicles that would ever pass a full 'in-house' machinery inspection 'over the pits', you may dissalusion yourself about how your 'blue plate' states the current vehicle legality, but the sad truth is if the inspector says its no go then thats IT!!! If you carefully scrutinise the current CCDA rulings in relation to roadworthyness of vehicles, then nearly all competitors would fail. Your comments in regards to competitors building up there vehicles from junk is the kind of pathetic 'elitist' attitude i really never thought i would hear from you. A lots of guys are inspired by you and what you have done to your truck, so it is particularly dissapointing. As a regular competitor and 'vehicle modifier' i always encourage and share knowledge with anyone who asks, but i am starting to see a regular trend from some people placing themselves on a pedastal - get over it!! Tough Tracks is a wonderful breeding ground for competitive smart thinking drivers, so all get together and make this a truly top class event.
