Perhaps finish bolting up the gearbox and starter motor tonight but I have a wedding tomorrow then wandin on Sunday so this weekend is a little thin for time.
The wheels aren't done yet, I should get the case with s3 back next wednesday.

Tail lights are wired up, will probably paint the body tonight and bolt ons (Bonnet doors bar) wednesday.
It was way to hot for working on cars over the weekend.

Tonights update:
Painted the body and front clip.
The so called "Signal Red" has turned out more orange than I thought, with a white roof, black bar work & white rims it is kind of looking like something out of the new Disney movie (So one of my kids pointed out)
My digital camera is at work so i will post some pics tomorrow.
Hopefully the rims and tcase will be back in my hands on Wednesday so all things look sweet for a test run this saturday.

You tell him Austin... Everyone knows that photos of Nemo's Dad are not a valid substitute for photos of un-finished project cars

Holy bling!!!!!!
Looks great, but it needs some pick bits like gregs!
What ever happened to them anyway they where ultra cool.
So once you have driven this after labour day do you plan on making anymore changes ie: power streering, diff gears?
Hows the s3 transfer case coming along?

Tonights update:
Pulled the front diff/axles CV's apart and fitted my spare diff (With the locker in it).
Picking up the tcase tomorrow night so fingers crossed I can take it for a bit of a drive tomorrow night.
Still waiting on the wheels to be finished.
Still to be done:
~ Fill up Engine, gearbox, tcase, diffs with oil.
~ Attach the flares and mud flaps (Bought some push fasteners yesterday)
~ Get the LTB's fitted to the rims once they have been finished (Hopefully Friday)
~ Prep and spray the bonnet, doors, windscreen surround and targa bar
~ Sleep
Still hoping to take it out on Saturday arvo, Sunday at the latest.

Yes I had hoped it would be a little more red as we already have two Orange cars in our club

Whats a pick bit (I know what pink bits are) ???
DeWsE wrote:So once you have driven this after labour day do you plan on making anymore changes ie: (a) power streering, (b) diff gears?
The other main mod will be the installation some sort of roll cage but that will have to wait.
(a) Power steering bah, you haven't seen my arms.
(b) I might look at diff gears but down the track.
DeWsE wrote:Hows the s3 transfer case coming along?
I believe I have answered that one

My kids tend to crack it when I take their toys and ruin them.

Looking great Steve!! I'd push the roll cage higher up in the priorities list
Just in case...
You could always spray a thin layer of a "redder" red over the current paint if you really wanted to cut some of the orange out... but it looks fine as it is
Great stuff, can't wait to see it in action!
Cheers,
Luis

Nice work there big steve - the paint looks like it's come up a treat...
Though i wonder if you got a little carried away there - the fuel tank appears to have a coat of black gloss on it
