i have done some more research and have found that Castlemaine Rod Shop (CRS) do an adapter plate for the 1UZ to a TH400 and marks do the transfer adapter. so i can get a bolt together transmission that is stronger and more reliable than the current i think....

Other thing to keep in mind is that the Turbo 400 and actually all turbo boxes are known to crack bellhousings and they are a one piece casing. So if it does take a hard hit and the case does break your up for a complete new gearbox casing.
The Turbo 400 will also sap the most amount of HP out of your engine.

if a belly plate is there is would be hard for it to take a hard hit in theory..RUFF wrote:Other thing to keep in mind is that the Turbo 400 and actually all turbo boxes are known to crack bellhousings and they are a one piece casing. Hi evan . Just to let you know about 2-3 months ago I was looking around for someone to supply an adapter kit to couple a c4-c9 ford trans. to lt230 transfer case . The c9 is basicly the same as c4 . The c10 is a little different .
Whereas the c6 is a quite a bit larger and does not have a seperate bellhousing.
I came across a company called Overkill engineering. Sent them an email and they replied saying the could manufacture and supply an adapter kit. I also found a company a couple of years ago that would make one up but the were in WA. they said if it was for a few kits they could reduce the price. But I cant remember their name , sorry.
I received an email from overkill . Which is on my laptop and I cant access it right now. Buit I may be able to send you a copy of the email tomorrow. Natually it is cheaper for more than one.
Anyway hope this is of some help. And I will try to pass on email tomorrow.
Cheers

Evan this is the copy of the emails I sent and received from overkjill . You seem to think in you email to me I had no idea what I was talking about.
Maybe it is you who should explain yourself more clearly to overkill if they are friends of yours . I didn't even know them when I contacted them.
Do you Comprehend now what an adapter and what an adapter kit is.
Bye
Hi yes we can make an adapter to suit c4 to the rover Lt230.
We need to know how short you need the adapter and at what angle you need the transfer to be clocked at.?
Cost wise $1250
Thanks

if you wouldnt mind finding the name as i may need it in the future!!!ISUZUROVER wrote:There is a place over here in WA (as westall1 mentioned), that makes C4-series T-case adaptors. They probably also make C4-LT230 as well. I can dig up their name if you are interested.
Graham i never said you had no idea what you were talking about!! i didnt know what you were talking about re my PM.westall1 wrote: You seem to think in you email to me I had no idea what I was talking about.

i was well aware of overkill doing the transfer adaptors i was seeing if there were and "bolt on" units as in not specifically made!!
and mate yes im well aware what an adapter kit is thank you very much
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At this stage i am unable to to change gearboxes as in order for me to do that i would need to cut tail shafts and get them rebalanced, change leavers and root around again!!
i sorced another toyota auto to donor internals for my old box!! it ended up welding all the forward gears together.
im planning on running a deep pan to start with untill i finish some plans to make oil pick up a un-worrying factor!! if it works i might do it to the engine aswell and angles shouldn't be a problem anymore!!
as for strength, these autos have been thrashed in street cars with some big kw/hp numbers so if i drive appropriately it should hold up...if not then ill have to save the $$ and change transmission!!

i have driven the bundy once since the gearbox had new internals and i got slippage again on steep slope.
i have sourced a surf oil pan so hope to have that fitted for this weekends run.
i have been looking into gearbox options again and now need to choose between the likes of a TH400, t700 or a C4.
if i can find some coin i think i might sell the LT230 and invest in an Atlas 4speed. but for this to all happen im looking at $5k if not more!!
