Spending a lot of time on Stockton Beach as well as planning a trip to Fraser Island in Feb. 2009, a pet hate of mine is not having service on your mobile phone. So the only solution was fit a car kit. But a car kit is only as good as its aerial. So with that in mind I went out and got the biggest aerial I could fit on my little GV. Check out the photo's.

Mate, that's top work you're doing.

With the car kit, what phone do you have? I'm having real trouble finding car kits that has an external aerial patch lead.

I have a Nokia 6233, with a genuine Nokia CR-56 Cradle.
The cradle is connected into a CK-7W Blue Tooth car kit.
This is the last mobile phone that will have a car kit, well that's what I've been told anyway.

Took my parents out to Stockton beach for the day. Ended up having lunch at Aussie Bob's at Anna Bay.

Not wanting to loose any boot space I went out and purchased a Focal, BOMBA under seat BUS 25 Sub woofer. Sounds pretty good. Not as good as two 12" boxed subs but check out the photos, it takes up nearly no space at all.

Fitted the Extractors the other day, Bolt in my eye.
Don't get me wrong there a great product but did they just forget to finish welding them?

Image

So after i finished welding what was forgotten I had to run them on the linisher because when I tested how flat the flange plate was with a straight edge they failed.

After all this the rest was simple, until I had to bolt the flange up under the car. It was totally the wrong size.
Apart from these little defects, there great. Noticeable power gain, and just a little more noise.

Sick of tearing off tie down points, I decided to make a decent rear recovery point. Check out the photos below.

Nice one.
Wish my stick welding was as good.

Now, what about the front recovery points?

Sweet GV man!

Are you really ripping off the tie downs/recovery points?
This has me worried... the owners manual states that they can be used for recovery and i don't want to send one flying at snatch speeds!

BTW, tidy up that rear recovery bar and you could sell em. Looks like it works and you can barely see it.

Hey bendev the GV's coming along very nice mate.
Where did ya get the extractors from and by the looks they bolted straight on to your existing exhaust.
Keep up the great work mate and we have to catch up shortly and i'll let ya have a drive of your old Jimny.
But by the looks the Gv might have spoiled ya.

You can get a lot of stuff from this place:

Hey schmik

If you have a close look at these two photos you will see the tie down point has nearly been torn from the car.
