my sierra with extraktas, an 2" that exsits in front of the back wheel, no fan, red line oils thruout, an 31s, 85 flat as a tak, mind, a full trailer load of wood, 5.
She roars out on the sand, pretty much untouchable, on the road, pussy willow, an very thirsty.
i do not drive her on the road much, just to an from the sand, or wood collection, sometimes to tow me lil boat to the beach.
A sierra with a 1.3 that can sit on 110kph, hehe, yea goodo.

Mine does
Rebuilt 1.3L, extractors, 1.75" exhaust, 235/75R15 MTRs, stock gearing - holds 110km/h on the flat all day in 5th running premium with 10* advance.
Standard unleaded can only push 8* advance and is more comfortable at 100-105km/h.

Obviously the answer in a Sierra's highway performance lies in the spelling…
extractors + 2" exhaust = 110kph
extractors + 1.75" exhaust = 110kph
extraktas, an 2" that exsits in front of the back wheel = 85kph

is ther an echo in hear...................
mine will hold 110 easy on freeways and iv even done 130 up a slight hill

if your gearing is right it will easily sit on 100, 110 is over the legal limit so of no concern here. I'm guessing you have your 31s but have done nothing about your gears. I could sit on a 100 with 34s with the right gearing

As I can with a 660 and a trayback on 34's- with the right gearing.
We've been over this before. If your car isn't geared correctly, you're not going to cruise at 110km/h
Steve.

Thanks Grimbo, I had no idea that different states had different top speed limits. I just wish I knew that on my travels to every state and territory in Australia over the years.

and now having said that I just remembered that Vic now does have some sections of road that is 110 so I was wrong about the Victoria part but seem to think that Tasmania doesn't have any 110 zones. But probably completely wrong about that too

I *believe* (but could be wrong) that the state speed limit throughout Australia is consistently 100km/h with posted speed limits of 110km/h on some roads. Eg SA the open road state speed limit (signposted as a black circle with a diagonal line through it) is 100km/h, but many highways and freeways are signposted at 110km/h.
Not sure of NT however as I know they have 130km/h on highways - but don't know if that is the territory speed limit or a posted speed limit.
Enough off topic from me

I did the complete Suzuki thing, no searching, just made it up from my dodgy memory. Should have said my mate reckons…

okay thats cool he understands the whole fuel thing and his apprentiship and that, he would be in trouble with like money.
The other cars he had in mind were a navara or a partol which would be best on fuel?
this is the vitara i jus bought last week.

Again I don't think he is picking cars that are very suited to an apprentice. Perhaps an old slow model of Navara would be affordable but still it would never be a fuel miser like your' Vitara is. The GQ patrols can be had cheap and built awsome offroad which makes them great value but the running costs (parts, fuel, servicing) would likely be a little expensive for an apprentice.
And welcome back Amanda, I appreciate your effort to make you latest posts easier for us to read.

x2 i have a mate that is an apprentice with a very nice gq but can only afford to drive it on weekends.
im a student and you cant beat a zook for capability, and running costs.
rockys are pretty good if he wants something a bit different.
