Update Xtreme Rules for ARB XWC & EFS XI

Just for the record the CCDA does not allow NOS to be run in any of our event and I support Dave in his actions. I understand we are not sactioning the event but we are all part of the same sport and will all suffer together.
CAMS will not allow it and to my understanding the drags are the only motor sport in OZ that will and they have very strick rules arround it. Storage and saftey and the transportation of the bottles.
i had been missinformed then, but as you said daves isnt CCDA and still no one can tell me why its unsafe,
the rules for drag racing are not very strict at all,
i am also licenced to carry it in bulk legally, any person can carry up to 1000litres of NOS in a veichly without DG sinage or the veichle being registered for it, and the whilst it is in bottles it is a packaged dangerous good and the person does not require a DG licence,
its also classes as non flammable, its like oxygen it will only support a flame,
i dont think any one really knows much about it and after watching fast and the furious have decided its bad,
im only trying to get a better answer than"just because" on why it isnt allowed

short answer - its not a managed system.tufenuf wrote:Just for the record the CCDA does not allow NOS to be run in any of our event and I support Dave in his actions. I understand we are not sactioning the event but we are all part of the same sport and will all suffer together.

unlike conventional fuel delivery systems, it does not have a control parameter to stop it in adverse situations (and generally this is due to the fact there is no 'governing rules as to the installation') EG: when you roll over and you foot is flat to the floor, WHAT turns the kit off? An efi car has a rev limiter, deisels have a governor . . . .
I have had more nitrous kits and setups than i care to remember, from my first plate kit to my last setup - a home brew progressive dual big shot fogger system, which ran 1 stage dry progressive , 2nd wet and then both together - woohoo. So yes i do know what i am talking about. In 8 years of drag racing 0 failures. BUT i did have all the safetys in place, hobbs switch for the pressure solenoids, rpm band switching, redundency solenoids on the progressive system .. . . . Farken expensive. But it was always funny watching jimbob with his BIG nitrous kit blow the top end out and wonder why? when his whole 'control' setup was a single button .
Yes IMO NOS kits can be very safe, BUT they must have the appropriate safety measures in place, and this is where uneducated users Don't like being told they need to spend $2k+ extra to make it perfect.
