Here the ls2 build up. Making 250rwkw (335rwhp) with 37's.

My mums old VX GTS made round 240-250kW or so at the wheels.

But this thread is about the 3RZ boys, not a V8 :finger:

Nice 1, so you rebuilt the motor with bog stock internals?, why?

Agreed, alot of people who do turbo conversions have little reliability, imo this is due more to not doing things right, driving the car on rev limiter all day (i see this alot) haha, or not spending the money where you can't use cheap components.

Is it just me but doesn't that dyno sheet read just above 240hp for standard run? Bit short of the 320 you were claiming.

I'm aware of the difference in power between US and Aus Gen3s but as has been said thread is about 3rz

the 290 is ran without an air filter, it's about 250 running in street trim which is what counts.

Also, tuned means it has a flash drive or aftermarket ecu, deeming it not standard :P

There is 3 runs:
standard - about 240hp
tuned - about 255-260
no filter - 290

none of which is near the 320 claimed.

Theres the quickest 3rz in the world, running a 7 sec quarter and 1200hp at the wheels, not to shabby for a 2.7 4 banger work ute motor.

we had a 2wd lux with a turbo one. it's pushing 400rwhp and is his daily driver and workshop runabout so I have no doubt what these motors are capable of.

I'll try and find a pic or two

thats richards old lux, bought it turbo, but put a 35r etc on it, n the motor is decompressed but still tough, i've been in it a few times it goes well, 11.7 is it's best time.

Noworries, This thread is about the 4 banger. And they do go hard. Solong as the reliability is there. The ones Ive seen didnt last 1 year before having big drama's.

The only variation I made for the rebuild was tighter tollerences which stopped the consumption of oil.

That dyno sheet is the only 1 I have scanned matt and have since sold the truck. It was running an aftermarket ecu, but an unlocked commo comp with a maffless tune is the same. That dyno was when the engine was still tight and trying to run through the tiny patrol airbox. The second dyno tune made 310rwhp and since then got even faster as it loosened up (so about 320 is correct) 300+ is easily acheivable just for the record.
