OK quick rundown of what I saw in no order at all, not much to say because I only saw track 1 and some of 2. had to take the young fella home then went back for the gourge

1. Hoonz radio died so I lent him my hand held
2. Festa broke BOTH his diff's
3. some bloke in a white 70s shortie with spoa put it on it's side
4. Paul from team Big Wheels (prod class) turned up with a turbo on his 4 runner and did a good solid run in the gourge
5. big red drove his usual clam self and had good clean run's from what I saw
6. someone (orange GQ sorry I don't know your name ) bent up a stearing arm but fixed it on the track.
7. Glen looked like he needed a good 12hr sleep
8. This blue zook with a turbo just keep's driveing up things 50 times it's height
9. Festa was the LOUDST spectator in australia
10. someone (again sorry I don't know your name) turned up with a super clean style side GQ ute and drove pritty well form what I saw
11. A bloke in a cam painted SWB cruiser did a very good impresion of a smoke machine
12. Glen destroyed a free wheeling hub doing a demo of the vert assult
13. as said above Sheetie drove in a safari suit but backed it up with very smoth controled drive's so you have to take the bloke seriousley (even if he has no dress sense ;) )
14. Jake gave Festa a good run for the loudest spectator contest ( who's bloody idea was it to let those 2 be in the same team anyway)
15. My digi camera died so don't ask for photos :x
16. Hoonz owns the gourge
17. Jake drove the mod track in the gourge because he could
18. Matt didn't bring his mega cleen GU out to play. (something about not scraching the paint for the gold coast ;) and he was doing the comentery )
19. I realized that watching is nowere near as much fun as driveing
20. luke is guna sell me his 35's when he get's his 37's ;)

I'm sure I missed heeps and their is still sunday's stuff but I hope this gives you all some idea of what an awesome weekend this is turning out to be

dunno where to start ... aaaaweome weekend ... ditto on everything that jake just said ...

now to the fun stuff ... tracks were pretty technical .. weaving in and out of markers on off camber wild rush that was ... as well as knocking them all over mwahahahaha

saturday nite after fin finished up ... things were a lil quiet to start with
got the fire crankin a bit more :onfire: .. was a cold nite in tsv
and we start the drinking games to get every one fired up :drinking:
i have sore muscles down my sides from laughing my arse off that hard
and rolling around in the dirt playin drinking games  .. what a crack up
then blake and jake were set up by matt and glenn in a game of knock each other on the head with spoons ... stick a big wood spoon in ya mouth and the other guy has to bow his head down so u can smack him on the head with the spoon in ur mouth ... BUT while blakes head was down matt pulled out another spoon and tapped him on the head with a good thump ... then blakes turn to hit jake ... but he just couldn't get it right and was in a daze tryin to figure out how jake was hittin him so hard
20 or so goes at it and he still didn't realise :silly: hahahahahaha
so we did it to jake to show him .... and he thought it was the funniest thing in the world and nearly pissed himself laughin
3am .. fester is makin prank calls to mitzi ... what a crack up this went on for a good hour
4:30am every one sleeping
8am ... every one waking up with sore heads
9am every one back to the driving
1pm vertical assult .. Sheety, Brett, Chris, Les and I all having ago at his
literally no run up to the vert ramps top drive by sheety hahaha woulda been scary in the shorty goin up that ... Chris, Brett, Les and i drove vert 1 and 2 fairly easily ... vert 3 chris started and no luck ... Brett had a good shot at it .. but it sounded like his motor wasn't playing the game
myself having a few goes at it and got up    holy shit!!!! Les's turn his patrol built to win vertical assult couldn't get traction any where and eventually broke a rear axel
disbelief in my eyes ... no way! I WON!

sweet driving by all awesome weekend .. and sweet tracks
thanks to all who made it happen glenn matt drivers and navi's and officals ........and the spectators .... fester lover you all :finger:
awesome atmosphere at tsv ascc recommend every one come and join the fun

Townsville team did a great job, especially given that some officials did a no show and left them short on manpower (man I know how that hurts, you guys saved our butt at the last mudrun!).
Venue was sensational - track prep, facilities, competitor camping was all superb.
When we rolled in Fri night and saw all those really well prepared comp rigs we were a)bloody impressed. b)wonderin what the hell we'd got ourselves into.
Sat night after comp was.....
well my sides are still hurting!
really enjoyed chewin the fat around the campfire in the wee hours of Sat

As for the result...
No-one was more surprised than me!
I was left stunned and speachless
It was a real shame we couldn't stay longer on Sunday

Thanks to all!! special thanks to Matt, Danny and all the tsv boys for makin us so welcome. also special thanks to the Brissy guys and gal(s?) we learnt heaps watchin, listenin and talkin to you guys.

Man, it still hasn't sunk in...

the results by them selves dont show how close the competition really was...from a highest overall score of 355 to a lowest of 150 meant you had to be consistantly good to win...
we might have won two stages but came fourth overall because the others drove well on every type of obstacle.
some tracks didn't suit us and some did so at the end of the day it was a good mix to keep us all even.
The track builders obviously did their job extremely well.

congrats to all the winners :D

[especially that good looking young bloke in the red GU ]

from the sounds of things I may need some time to save up for a truck load of spares before I let Fester near my car!
Strange thing is, that's the first time I've had my car out for ages and NOT broken something.
