This is interesting. We had a Member years ago with a Feroza, A narrow track EX something or other.

I guess it was "mildly modified" - for a while it had 700. 16 SAT's on it. (like every car in the club at one time.... Grimbo's SAT's sure did get shared around)

No aftermaket parts availability.

No gearing. - with a 30" tyre it really used to struggle becuse the computer controlled idle speed wouldn't let it lug.- it iwas hard to drive elegant.
No travel.
Used to get hung up a lot.

I;m sure a WT feroza is better, but there's still no support.

Unless you throw the whole driveline away, there will only ever be "mild" mods, and that in itself is a disadvantage. As a stock car, I would still rate a sierra (wt or nt) ahead of a feroza, and "mildly modified" its a cake walk for the sierra.

I'd rather drive a feroza on road though, (so long as I was in disguise

Of course this is just from what I have seen/driven. No actual facts.

It's funnay how the more marginal the car is for off road, the more fervent the "enthusiasts"... Cars have aftermarket support for a reason.

If only the EFI on a Feroza was that sophisticated.... the computer has very little control over the idle. The only thing it can do to change it is switch open two solenoids- one when the aircon is turned on, the other when the heater fan is on! There is a water temp controlled mechanical valve in the throttle body that controls the idle speed....

The ignition timing is also done via weights and vacuum advance (again not controlled by the EFI computer)- but the distributor does at least have a Hall effect pick up and no points. :D
