Hell yeah, can't wait for this :)
I will be Shanes spotter in the FIRETRUCK.

I might actually be looking to bum a ride off a Sydney sider who is heading up on the Saturday some time.
I am staying in Sydney and then need to find a lift to get to the Woodpecker site.

Anyone who is headed up let me know.

cheers

z

...starts early Sun morning... 7:30am drivers briefing, 8am start I think.

If you wanna catch all the action it's not a bad idea to camp sat night.

The Zook Club team is going up saturday for classing, then camping over in Dargle. From memory it is $5.50 per person per night. If anyone is going to be there, look for the Suzuki 4WD club banners, or my car, a black Suzuki XL-7 with club sticker in white on the front and rear window.....

Try to avoid the Ferry if possible, the best way to get there is via Pitt Town Rd at McGrath's hill or the Old Northern Rd from Dural.

To quote from
http://www.onall4s4wdclub.com/woodpeckerrulesregs.php

"Drivers Briefing will be at 7.00am to 7.30am on Sunday 28-11-04. We don’t expect too many questions due to the briefing pack we put together, but if you have questions don’t hesitate to ask them! Start will be at 7.30am. If vehicles are not at the starting line when they have been called then they will not run, but if an official is notified and there is a legitimate excuse, then the vehicle may run out of order. "

Im Driving Down Friday. And Driving Back either late Sunday or Early Monday morning depending on how i feel after the comp. I am guessing our team from QLD will be the last to run so its going to be a long day.

Tony I have been trying to get them to run us interstaters early in the order so that we can then leave earlyish to start our long drives home. So hopefully you want be last.

I know they like to run it in order of payment from quickest to slowest but man when you have people that have driven for anything from 7hrs + and the event is on on a sunday I don`t think its unfar to run inerstate teams early in the day even if they are last to pay.

I remember the 1st woodpecker I went in I was 4th last car to run, I had to wait around all day untill about 5.30pm to have my run, then I had to change tyres etc and it was 7pm before I started driving home the 7.5hrs, I got home about 2.30am then had to unpack the lux as I had to drive it to work at 7.30am that morning. The next year I got to run about 11am, then changed tyres and left by 1pm got home about 8.30pm that year and it was all good for work.

So as you can see it makes a HUGE differance for us interstaters if they let us run early in the order. Not so bad if you only live 2 to 3hrs away like most of the compeditors.

As far as Richard is concerned our entry is not a problem.

And i dont have a problem with running last. If this was a concern i would have made sure we had our entry in as early as possible.
