What sort of seat of the pants increase in performance are you getting? Can you estimate a 0 to 60 (mph) now as opposed to stock (21 sec for na 4.2)?
89 gq dx. bone stock --- for now.

i'm just waiting on a couple of things + money i've spent a bit lately...

Just needing sandy to make up my new 4" snorkel... and someone has started on the manifold but need to give them gaskets to complete the job...

I'm making up 2 manifolds so if anyone is interested in one let me know... they are costing a bit but they are all matched length and its a highmount style manifold.

I recently got my ute dynoed, ended up with 140hp at wheels with a 3" zorst, slight pump tickle, boost @ 13psi and running intercooler fan. Max temp got tot 580 after full load for 2 or so minutes.
It still returns decent economy so probably stick with that for now. Although gas sounds like an idea ...

Wow this is an old thread.....

Ah alot has changed since then....

Now running about 180kw.. with more power available only running 22psi as my extractor manifold has a boost leak (needs to be re machined on the exhaust side)

To be honest its smokes less then before, has hell of a lot more power economy is actually good when driven sensibly, i even went back down to 4.1 ratios.

Here are some pics, However I really should take some new ones........

Thanks mate,

We were considering changing it, however seems to be doing the job just fine at the moment... Just howls quite a bit... :)

do you have another design in mind, or are you looking to point the intake forwards?

i found on my GQ having the snorkel head forwards only had a minor whistle to it, but turning it backwards it howled,
