Hi Guys
I'm a bit late coming into this thread sorry.
Freon destroys the Ozone layer so you should really have your system decommissioned, that is drained, by an Air-cond expert, then go on with the rest of the development.

I found where it had been leaking before I removed/undid any lines. I noticed there was a big handful of sticky hairy dusty tar (aircon grease+dust/dirt?) on one of the junctions. There wasnt even any pressure in the line when it was undone.
I sorted out my switches today. Have wired up the +ve for the compressor to the pressure swicth to an incab switch to the +ve on the aux battery.
pressure switch is set to cut in at 70psi and out at 90psi.
testing the rattle gun and it seems fine altho I haven't had a chance to test it under load.
if i set the hand throttle on a bit it would be able to easily keep up with any constant usage.

swapped my rubber over last night..
I found with the rattle gun I could get a whole wheel undone before the compressor would fire up again. This worked out well cos by the time I went to put the other tyre back on.. it had refilled the tank to max pressure.
When I used the staun massojet (with air attachment) the pump was working a bit more solidly (almost continually) depending on the amount of air I was letting through.
And I didnt really get a chance to properly test the airchuck but it filled up my 31" cheese cutters 8psi in about 30secs.
So over all I am very happy with this setup. I've got a multipurpose compressor I have plans to use with cutting/grinding and spraypainting jobs in the future.
The only problem I have left to sort out is hooking up my incab switch to the ACC. I went to go to work this morning and noticed that incab switch was still on, I was about 100meters down the road and checked the pressure it had gotten up to max pressure already. Lucky I had this rigged up to my 2nd battery otherwise it could of been a bit of a pain.
My only worry is that I'll be piggybacking an ACC wire thats already being used for something else, wouldn't adding this on top potentially create issues? I have wired my incab switch up to the +ve of battery with a 25A fuse in between, if I do the ACC thing then this isn't going to be used (it will use the ACC fuse, etc, which a few other things are using already).
any ideas?

for anyone who is still interested in this here are the pics of the bits finally installed:
This first shot is of the intake filter and the inline oiler, then it goes to the air compressor:
This is a pic of the output (starting from left to right), the air/oil seperator, check valve, then the pressureswitch (unloader isn't hooked up yet), then to the tank. The thing you can see at the bottome of the next shot is the air compressor. The blue line goes to the guage in the cab.
Heres a quick flick of the speed it fills the tank to 90psi at idle.
http://members.iinet.com.au/~ironpaw/pressure.avi Not the fastest but works fine at idle for the rattle gun. got a cut off saw on the weekend to help with the half doors and it requires about 2000 revs and a lot of patience to make any worthwhile progress.
When I first used the cut-off saw on the weekend I think I got it too hot and melted the filter in the oil/air seperator. I removed the filter that was blocking the output of the seperator and so far today its run fine... few minor teething problems but nothing major.
so for now i think thats me done for this mod.. now its time to progress onto the next!

You sure made it look complicated
And why have you got the arrow on the separator facing the rear. Does the compressor outlet go up the front somewhere and then come back?
Lotta hoses/switches/things there.
Oh well as long as it works ok and your happy with it
