there is actually about 4 inches (100mm) difference between the front footwells as the engine is kicked/angled towards the RHS to increse the LHS footwell space for the driver. It also allows the front driveshaft to run up beside the sump and trans to the front diff which is offset to the left about 3 inches. The front halfshafts are then of unequal length as well.
Moving the engine to the RHS also allows more room for the steering box which is then a big problem when you wish to mount the steering box on the RHS.
We considered moving the engine back to the left a bit but so much other stuff would have to be relocated it was put in the too hard basket.

Funny how they dont specify the 4bie but oh, is that a Hummers/ H4 grill on the front of that wreck?
