sam, i have tried heaps of combos in my zook, everything from std tcase pos and hilux diff and a mega expensive double double cardin shaft to bundy rear diff and single cardon, and bundy w/ a high pinion and single cardon. cost a f*****ing fortune and got rid of all the vibes by clocking the t/case a few deg and used a std shaft. cheap!
busiboy and gribble are the closest! 2 angle on different planes.
even with the bundera rear you will still get a combine angle.

Hey,
Last time I looked 2 points can only be connected by a straight line so there is only 1 angle.
Next the vibes are caused by a variation in angular velocity. This is because the 1 angle mentioned may not be perfectly split into identical complimentary angles because the uni joints are not rotating in the same plane eg 20 degrees should Ideally split into 10 + 10.
A Double cardin joint adds a third point that can relieve the differential of the original angular velocity by allowing the driveshaft to have natural complimentary angles.

Go doublecardan on both sides of the driveshaft
tho the math isn't that hard. Theoretically there's just one angle when transfer and pinionshaft are perfectly parallel,no matter if diff is centered or not. A 'real' driveline has this angle adjusted on the diff side for different load conditions, so there will be always be some differences in input and output speed. mostly these little vibes get absorbed by tires etc (or overshadowed by the regular rattles and vibes).
However, when angles get steeper, the same small difference in angles will cause a greater intermittent speed difference. This is just the case with lifted vehicles. Same goes for a centered tranny-offset diff combo where the (compound) angles are greater then they would be in a "normal" situation. It's just operating angles coming near the limits and so magnifying the vibrations that's already there.
