as discussed abot the 3 packs on the front are cool, i would have thought the rears would be a higher spring rate though is its from a ute made to carry some serious weight, more so than the fronts carrying the motor and driver?

i got my springs for $90 a pack brand new (all fronts) theyre malaysian stock height replacements... i assume from whatever they call a hilux in malaysia (monster truck?).

i also noticed that these springs have military wrap thingo on the 2nd leaf, which even my current 2" zuk springs dont have... i dont know whether to think theyre good quality or if its there for a reason!? haha

anyways, got mine from a toyota wrecker / specialist in cannington (perth)... wreckers want about $100 a pack for old springs and this place did $90 for new ones. cant compain!

Just got my hilux rears this arvo atached to a hilux diff (hub to hub) for aproximatly zero dollars. Had a measure up and they will move my diff back enough to run a front shaft in the rear. will be running 3 leaf packs rear and standard rears up front.

small talk.

Alien I just checked Calmini´s homepage for list price on those t-case gears you will be using: 550 US$, thats 715 AUS$. You´re paying 1080.-. That feels like a ripoff to me or does it really cost that much to freight from California to down under? 365 AUS$ for a few pounds of parts! You must be lining some middlemans pockets!
Anyway, good luck with the buildup.

yeah you're right - although after mates shipping BMX gear here and having bits go missing and that kind of thing - id rather pay an extra $100 and know its going to get here =)

good point though

Pic didn't work Brock. I resized it, so that quality has gone up the shit. There is still more flex left, it hit the tray in this pic I think, or it was very close. Drives like a bitch though, so much wander. Shocks might clean it up a bit and the trackbar.

OK, the date is set for this lift (FINALLY!!!), will be starting work next week, hoping to have it all done not tooooo long after (2 weeks?) - then we'll have a bash at engineering it (depending on swerve test pricing)...

I also pulled apart one of my leaf packs today, the two main leaves alone feel about as stiff as my old shagged springs, with the 3rd leaf of the pack they become ULTRA stiff (me jumping up and down on them moves them about 1", but then i only weight 65kg). the bottom most leaf (short one) has almost no give in it whatsoever... so im thinking of running the two main leaves and the bottom load leaf, and dropping out the 3rd one of the pack.

I can see a lot of trial and error coming along! =)
