Hey Mick,
Could you post some picks of the rear tubs when done? We're about to cut them out of my body shell as well and i'd be keen to see what you do to fill the holes back up again.
Question: Have you flexed the car to see how far up those tyres come? I'm just curious if the new wheel wells are going to be big enough to squeeze those tyres into.
It's looking good mate... happy to see that it is coming along quite quickly.

i havent flexed it up yet. I dont think there is going to be any issues in the rear. The problem is going to be the front when flexed up and turning. I think i might have to run it without the wheelspacers on the front (i have 2inch spacers on it at the moment). I have cut the foot wells back to the body mount and redrilled the centre bolt 3inches forward but i dont think it is enough. I dont want to re drill the centre bolt any further forward as it will end up too close to the front of the spring pack. I will change the front end around at a later date but i am running out of time to get it ready for qld, so i think i might just put some big bump stops on it for now.

mickbj42 wrote:they wont hit the headlights the will hit the footwells. I am going to drill the centre bolt another 35mm or so further forward and see how it goes.
I wont have the problem of it hitting the lights because of the shackle reversal. As my wheel compresses it moves away from the lights and into the footwells, whereas your zook without a shackle reversal swings into the lights.
We have moved into our new factory unit now so i can get a alot more work done after hours now with everything in the one place!

Earlier in this thread you mention making up driveshafts, what did you end up with exactly?

Why would you keep anything zook when it comes to those shafts? To put a hilux u-joint at one end and a zook u-joint at the other end doesn't make sense to me, am I missing something???
My thoughts are that if you need to make any changes to those shafts piss them off all together and start over.

i didnt have a full hilux shaft to modify to put into the zook. I made the shafts just to get it going for queensland, we have new cv shafts to go in it but they wont be ready before xrcc.

I see that you have removed the fuel tank at the back there... I gather you are replacing it with a fuel injected tank?
Is it going back in the same spot? or are you relocating it to somewhere else?
We are putting my vitara efi tank behind the front seats (just behind the step up onto the tray area), it's going to be mounted half above and half below the floor i think.
