Want to elaborate on how long that has taken and costs invloved in getting it that far?

What other plans do you have for it? Jerry can holders etc......
Time taken is a bit hard... A few full weekends plus plenty of evenings.

At a guesstimate there is about $500 worth of tubing, allow about $100 for Elektrickery, another $200 for consumables (gas, wire, disks, etc.), $1100 for axles/springs/Treg.
Wheels and tyres cost depends on size.
Another $600 for the Ally sheeting.
Canvas will be a couple of thousand.
Add another $1500 for miscellaneous bits and pieces (mattresses, water tank, gas struts, latches, hinges, woodwork, etc)

Main motivation for going DIY was I wanted something quick to setup (therefore hardtop) but able to sleep 2 adults and 3 kids and have HEAPS of storage space.

Jerry cans and gas bottle will go in the hatches behind the wheels (600Wx700Hx375deep). A 60L Engel will roll out from under the bed across the front.
A couple of DeepCycle batteries will be included but their location will be decided to suit weight distribution.

Mate,

Sounds like you have it sussed!

Look forward to seeing how it goes and looks when completed.

I'm throwing around the idea of getting a used camper now, instead of building one.

I guess, atleast untill I know exactly what I want and need. Then I might get around to building one to suit my exact needs.

Cheers
