Mustangs came out with 200, 221 etc. Not all V8s.

Eventually the 6's were dropped, but they were an option early on.

Still tossing up a Boss motor build- this 351 windsor looks to have six bolts- but could someone confirm pls?

Only private imports were 6 cyl's.
The Factory Imported ones were all 289's, in 1965 or 1966 only, and it was to celebrate the Mustang bred falcons release.
