I have since bought and installed one if those new arb compressors with a pressure switch so it would work just fine with a 'trigger' tyre inflator.
It takes 2mins & 10 seconds (with a stopwatch) to get my 31" MTR from 14psi up to 35 psi. I tested it last week on a works hatchback 14" factory tyre and it took 15 seconds to get that little tyre from 25psi up to 35psi.
